Dear Nexus friends
Thanks so much for joining us on Monday for such an encouraging day of teaching, discussion, singing and catching up with old friends. We're very thankful to God for the many ways he blessed us at this year's conference. We've uploaded the first three of the talks below.
In case you missed filling in your feedback form, we'd still like to hear from you here.
During his talk on 'The Apprenticeship Principle', Tony mentioned two pieces of further reading to flesh out aspects of his presentation.
1. The first is a more detailed critique of the 'Comparable Particulars' approach to biblical application. It's taken (and shortened and adapted) from an essay Tony wrote in 2014 in response to John Dickson's book Hearing Her Voice.
2. The second is a worked example of using the 'Apprenticeship Principle' to think about congregations and congregational pastoring, in light of the popularity and advantages of the 'team pastoring' model. This paper was originally sent out as part of last year’s Reach Australia conference as a discussion starter for a panel with Tony Payne, Andrew Heard and Phil Colgan.
We hope you find these pieces stimulating and useful.
And we look forward to seeing you again at next year's conference! The date for your diaries is Monday, March 17, 2025.
With warm regards in Christ
Phil Colgan on behalf of the Nexus Committee
